Hey everyone! Tonight I get to show you some true “on the farm” style engagement pictures! We actually had a lot of fun with this shoot, from climbing up hills to ducking through barb wire, to a mile long drive on a 4 wheeler that ended with a ten minute hike through the woods to get to the perfect spot, it was all worth it. My favorite moment was recreating the exact spot, pose, and time of day when Owen actually proposed, only with more epic lighting haha. I asked Natasha and Own to share some of her thoughts from the day! Enjoy!
How did you two meet?
“Owen and I got set up on a blind date just over 4 years ago. He had made a bet with a mutual friend that she couldn’t set him up with someone and have the relationship last longer than two weeks. He definitely lost that bet by far!”
How did he pop the question?
“It was gun deer hunt last year, we went for a walk around his parent’s pond. We were looking for a possible location to put a deer stand near the pond. I had joked around with him saying if/when we had kids I could waddle on over the the deer stand but he had to ask me first. I turned around and he was down on one knee proposing! After, he had told me he was surprised I didn’t see his “square boob” since he was carrying the ring box around all weekend trying to find the right time to propose.”
Did you find a store that had everything you were looking for?
“I pretty much took everything out of my closet and sorted everything from there. lol Owen’s outfits were from Walmart, Kohls, and Fleet farm for his boots. My outfits were from a variety of stores including Amazon (heels), a store over in Ireland (light blue jacket with dress), Kohls, etc. It took me a while to figure out all of my outfits, Owen’s were easy!”
Did you take any props or try to incorporate any activities that you and your fiancé are involved in?
“Owen is into a variety of hunting so we wanted to incorporate some type of camouflage and he proposed during the gun deer hunt. Also his parent’s farm is a big part of our life so it was important to us to incorporate that into our pictures. Along with the sign “The best memories are made on the farm””
What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples for the session?
“Just relax and enjoy having pictures taken with you and your loved one!”
How was your experience during your session?
“Wonderful! We got to do all the locations on the farm we had wanted pictures at, including where he proposed!”
