Earlier this summer I had the opportunity to create rustic engagement pictures for Nicole and Cody and a few weeks ago was the actual wedding! The past two years I had been extremely lucky to not get a single rain day and it seemed that luck had run out, the night before the weatherman was showing nonstop rain all day. Then the next morning that “solid” rain turned out to be intermittent showers that had short openings in between and we took full advantage of the lulls.
I always try to turn negatives into positives and actually used the rain to our advantage, Nicole’s parents had a huge puddle out in their yard so the girls and I walked out there with umbrellas to get some pictures in the rain as it poured down and it turned out really nice! Later on with the guys I got an “epic” shot of them with storm clouds in the sky.
I couldn’t pick just one favorite image from the day so I went with two. The first one was inside a barn at their aunts house, the weather outside wasn’t cooperating but we were able to be sheltered from the rain and back lit in a way that really looked special. My other favorite image was near the end of the day at Vandervest Harley Davidson in Green Bay, they were finishing up construction on a new building and we were fortunate enough to be able to use their awesome looking deck, check it out above!
