At long last, some of my favorite images from Tori and Bens wedding day! This post will be a bit of a collaboration, I asked Tori some questions after the wedding to get her word on things so she will get to provide the commentary and I will provide the pictures at the end! Enjoy! (see their awesome engagement session!)
What was your favorite moment(s) from the wedding?
Everything! The day was so perfect! I do remember saying the vows and Ben jokingly urging me not to cry. I also remember just looking out over all the people at the church and just smiling and feeling so loved!
How long have you been together?
6 yrs on the 25th
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Relax! Take time to enjoy your day, after all you spend months or even years planning it and it goes by so fast! Don’t let the small stuff get to you, you’ll be much happier for it!
Tell us about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?
I found my dress at Elaine’s in Appleton. It is not the style of dress that I would have ever thought I’d end up with but when I put it on it was everything I was looking for in a dress. I didn’t want my dress to be to “prom-like” I hated poofy, and most of all I wanted the dress to me memorable, not run of the mill. The dress I got was exactly that.
How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day?
I thought it was great. I think there is going to be a good balance between staged and candid and I really liked your assistant, she was pretty awesome! I felt like having 2 photographers was perfect because while you did the more formal pics she got some of the other ones.
Any tips on what to bring?
Some props are fun but don’t expect to use them a lot. BRING BABY POWDER!! Put it everywhere! Skrew what people think, you need to be comfy. Also bring comfy shoes! My feet hurt for days after the wedding! If you don’t need the fancy shoes right that moment wear the comfy ones. I did not bring them I was bare foot most of the night.
What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome?
I was most anxious to get up in front of all those people and say how much I loved Ben. We aren’t publicly affectionate so I thought that would be the hardest. That, and I was nervous about screwing up all the parts of the ceremony and being embarrassed. On the day, though, it wasn’t so bad. We just said how we felt and having everyone there wasn’t even a big deal! And we did mess up a bit! But it was funny and cute, not embarrassing at all!
What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples for planning their wedding?
DO NOT PLAN A WEDDING WHILE GOING TO COLLEGE!! Seriously it sucked, but it was all worth it!
