Well this was certainly a fun one! These two met at church (just like my wife and I) and Joe proposed at a birthday party while they were eating cake! We’ve known Taylor for years, she came to us originally for senior pictures, we later hired her for her amazing talents as a hair and makeup artist, she’s been my assistant at several weddings, and now we’ve come full circle and I get to shoot her own wedding…. and it almost didn’t happen. When Taylor had first told me she picked a wedding date and asked me to be her photographer, I looked at the calendar and was like “oh no, I’m already booked that day!” The next day I sat down to look at the couple I had on that date and it realized they hadn’t payed (I had just done their consultation a few weeks prior and was holding their date to give them extra time to finalize). So I gave them a call and turns out the wedding got pushed back a year, so the date was open for Taylor and Joe! I texted her the good news and got a large string of smiley faces back! 😀
So onto the engagement session! To make their session extra personalized they both wore a camo outfit because they love to hunt, Joe also has a sweet truck so we had a great time working that into the session. You can hardly tell from the pictures but it was POURING rain just a few hours earlier but the skies parted just before our scheduled time and the fresh watering made the plants and flowers extra colorful and vibrant and it really shows in the rustic country engagement pictures. So a big congrats to both of you and I can’t wait to get to shoot your wedding this fall! 😉
